TR-369, known as the User Services Platform, is the Broadband Forum's message-based successor to TR-069. An agent runs on the device and accepts messages from one or more authorised controllers.
How does TR-369 / USP work?
Instead of device-initiated HTTP sessions, USP carries messages over MQTT, WebSocket, STOMP or CoAP. Any authorised controller can address the agent at any time, with per-controller permissions on each part of the data model. That makes near-real-time control practical and gives constrained IoT endpoints a transport they can actually afford.
Why does an ISP need TR-369 / USP?
Multi-controller support means the NOC, the subscriber app and a partner service can each hold their own scoped access to the same device without sharing one master credential.
