Open stack, no vendor lock-in

The platform is built on an open, disaggregated wireless stack, so access point hardware and management are separable decisions. Refreshing hardware does not mean re-platforming, and adding a second hardware source does not mean a second controller.

Common questions

What access point hardware does it run on?

A broad range of Wi-Fi 5, Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 6E access points from multiple manufacturers. Because the stack is open rather than tied to one vendor, you can mix hardware across the estate and change supplier at refresh without changing platform.

Is there a controller to install?

No on-premises controller is required. Access points connect to the cloud management services over a single secure channel. For organisations that need it, the same services can be deployed privately.

What happens if the internet connection drops?

Access points continue serving clients with their existing configuration. They can also be provisioned locally over a dedicated SSID when the cloud or WAN is unreachable, so an engineer on site is never locked out.

Can we run guest Wi-Fi on the same access points?

Yes. Guest access runs as its own SSID with separate VLAN, rate limits and captive portal. For businesses whose main purpose is public Wi-Fi, OMNISPOT adds full portal customisation, paid access and regulatory compliance on top.
